Poor in Rich Area
Problems encountered in the production and enhancement of food in Asian countries in general is still low productivity broad unity, the high respiration for crops in the tropics, the high crop losses at harvest, low level of technology used. Generally, the problems in food production are as follows:
1. Central of food production only in certain areas.
Almost 60% of food production comes from rich fertile soil in Java for Indonesia with 40% from in East Java. The rich people controlled the production live in Java provinces which covers 2.5% of Indonesia's land area and with a population of 14.8% of the total population of Indonesia. Concentration of production as above lead to a variety of complexity in the marketing and distribution of food, given that Indonesia is an archipelagic nation with a population of 3,000 inhabited islands. In many regions, there are still many poor people.
Another issue closely related to geographical circumstances, such as the limited availability of communications and transport.
1 Food production is dependent on season
In the rainy season the harvest will be high or increase, while in the dry season yields decline. Food production in Indonesia besides uneven according to the place, but also uneven according to time.
1 Food production fluctuates influenced by the weather and pests (diseases)
Production weather, interference fluctuations, strongly influenced by weather conditions, pests, diseases, and natural disturbances and so forth.
1. Intensification of food production through the use of improved species are fast growing and disease resistance, use of fertilizers, irrigation usage effective in places that provide natural water less, use of equipment and medicine pest eradication (defect) is safe and effective, and appliance of modern farming technology.
2 Extensification or expansion of food production, namely: to produce the type and amount of food that is a staple food, especially by way of an intensive development of aqua culture or if possible the opening of new land. Diversification of food which means diversifying the staple food of the people of a region with a variety of staple foods that can be provided by the government seperit rice, corn, wheat, tapioca, sago, and so forth.
To meet the food needs of the community, of course, not only oriented fulfillment amount (in terms of quantity), but must also oriented to the fulfillment of its quality (in terms of quality).
Factors that meets the quality of food products as a source of materials (substances) nutrition are:
1 Nutrient content, especially food production will have different nutritional content of food products another invitation. Part of the difference is caused by the arrangement of the basic nutrients of the food itself. Nutritional content of some food products in Indonesia has been known in the list of food composition.
2. Handling of food in Indonesia has not yet reached the desired level because there are many foods that damaged crops either at the time or at the time of transportation irregularities.

5. Food processing. In food processing we have to be very careful so that these foods do not lose some of the nutrients, especially vitamins.
Those problem are generally encountered by many country in Asia as developing country except in Japan. this causing people mostly farmer limited in their effort to increase their crop production production.

I live in a rich country. but does it true ?? according to the government, Indonesia has gotten better, but the reality is worse. we have a large area and high potential. why not use it? we use and protect it to the maximum, so that we which poor will become rich by exploiting rich region.

therefore when food production depends on the season so we have to manipulate the season with, a good dam and irrigation well we can produce food that is much better.
ReplyDeleteIndonesia has a big nature resources for its people, but poorly, human resources in Indonesia do not give their best to manage and keep its nature. most of Indonesian people are just active consumer but passive producer. my be this is one big problem of why Indonesia be a country that has a big area but being poor after all.
