. Benefits of Food As Energy Source For Human

Some plant producing energy or carbohydrates well known in Indonesia are written  in brief :

 1. Corn

 The corn crop is a plant that comes from America. In Indonesia, a lot of corn to meet the needs of both food and non-food. Benefits of Corn for citizens not only as food, but it can process into some kind of more a case of: starch, corn flour, snacks, popcorn (popcorn), porridge, rice, corn, corn syrup etc. As some of the benefits of non-food ingredients from corn is used as animal feed, compost, paper-making materials and firewood. Some of the major centers of the corn crop producing areas, namely: East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, East Java, Central Java, West Java.

2. Cassava

 Cassava or better known as a tropical and subtropical plant of the family Euphorbiaceae is able to flourish in this country. This plant is one of the types of staple food-producing carbohydrates than rice and maize which is the staple food typical of Indonesian society. According to the history of the Brazilian cassava is a crop that has spread to many countries around the world. These plants grow and produce from the lowlands to the highlands.

In addition to direct consumption or boiled in advance, Cassava also can be used as a raw material manufacturing industry tapioca flour, cassava flour, and materials for ethanol, gasohol, and others.

3. Potatoes
Historically, the potato is a plant that originated in Central America. Potato plants are plants that live and produce in the subtropics or upland areas, in addition to consumption, potatoes are also in use as a material for paints, glucose-makers and others. The spread of the potato crop in Indonesia are in East Java, West Java, Central Java, Aceh, South Sumtera, Karo and others. According to the study, the potato is one of the world's major food after rice, wheat, and corn.

4. Taro
Taro is included in the tribe yarns taro (Araceae).  In Indonesia taro can be found in almost all the islands and scattered  nearly 90% caloric needs of the population.
Taro is consumed as supplement and prepared as snack or additional staple food in Eastern Indonesia. It is an important energy source in this region.
