Harmful Viruses in Plant and Human

Viruses in Plants

There are various kinds of harmful virus that attack plants consisting of several types. Some of them are, Tobacco Mozaic Virus (TMV), virus lives in or attacks Paddy plant called Tungro Virus and virus lives or attack the orange plant called the CVPD (Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration).

1. Virus TMV (Tobacco Mozaic Virus)
TMV virus or what we know as Tobacco Mosaic Virus is a type of virus that attacks tobacco plants. This virus destroys most leaf of tobacco causing the leaves are filled with yellow spots and diffuse discharge in the form of sap. This virus is not only attacking tobacco, but it also attacks plants which belong to the members of egg-plants tribes.

2. Reovirus
The farmers know this as tungro virus. A disease that is often attacking rice plants. It is the most dangerous and detrimental paddy disease in the Southeast Asia. Transmission of this disease is through virus carried by the brown plant hopper and green leafhopper. Rice plants that is attacked by this disease will be stunted and born bad flower and bad grain.

3. Virus CVPD
Virus CVPD (Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration) is a type of virus that attacks citrus. This virus attacks the system of degeneration vessels of citrus plant. The Result of this virus attack is the citrus plants will soon die.

Virus in Human

As already mentioned, the virus can only reproduce inside a living organism by utilizing cell, then the owner of the cell would be suffering even dying. What are the kinds of viruses? Here is a short review.

Viruses in Bacteria

Bacteria are organisms that have a tendency to carry disease, although bacteria can be free from disease. Bacteria have the possibility been attacked by a disease. It is known that bacteria is a virus vector or attacked by a virus. Viruses that attack bacteria are called bacteriophages, which are part of the order Caudovirales.

In the body of the host, in this case bacteria, bacteriophages are viruses replicate themselves through the lytic cycle and the lysogenic cycle. One example is the bacteriophage T4. This bacteriophage is a virus that attacks the bacteria Escherichia coli. As it is well know, this E. coli is a bacteria that lives and often disturb the human digestive process.
