Saturation levels. Based on existing demand patterns over the years, divided into two kinds of trend and market demand for ornamental plants, namely
(1) demand is relatively fixed, less volatile, and
(2) demand is so many influenced by market trends prevailing at that time.
Demand remains relatively common to ornamental plants needed for the wedding, as the flowers are yellow and white (chrysanthemum), or interest 'sacred' with special fragrances like jasmine and tuberose. Similarly, the cut flower or leaf pieces that are almost always available / required in flower with a long vase life. Examples of this kind of cut flowers such as carnations, chrysanthemums, orchids, gerberas, lilies and roses (especially for the celebration of valentine's day), while examples of leaf crop such as asparagus stars, dracaena, silver dollar, and caspea.
The second type is the type of plants that demand is strongly influenced by trends that are usually created by the marketing trend of ornamental plants. For example, in the 1987-1988 crop year suplir so popular that all hobyist busy collecting maidenhair ferns, then faded again. In 1997 the plant from the family of bromeliads become popular and attracts many lovers of ornamental plants. Then in 1998 the famous CIRA plants with braided trunk and 1999 dracaena plants are arranged in such a way to be popular with the name of 'bamboo' water and is linked to the image ownership fortune.
Now of ornamental plants have been not so popular anymore. In early 2000 the popularity of the plants 'frangipani Japan' (Adenium sp) came and in 2002 his popularity had begun to wane again.
While the saturation level of the entrepreneur / producer of flowers and ornamental plants, still open for new investors to pursue this effort, because they open opportunities still quite large.
